Got Milk?

Have a sudden craving for milk.

Have had two consecutive weeks riddled with countless 'night-off's. Caught Firewall and The Inside Man. Firewalls a B-grade but Inside Man came close to entering my list of fav movies if not for the uneventful ending sequence. (I want my bloody turban!)

In a perpetual state of disbelief. I'm flying off tmr morning?! Won't be back for close to a month. No more local fare. No more waking up at 0530... daybreaks at 0430 there... Cookhouse food replaced by .... yet to see what a bunch of NSF 'ah-beng'ish amatuer cooks can whip up.

Just heard some pre-recorded msg by PAP wailing throughout the neighbourhood. And some kid, around the age of 12 was under my block blasting the party going "Stupid PAP! Shuddup LaH! You @#$%!"...

Kids these days... tsk tsk -shakes head in dismay-

How did their object of hate change from the notorious "Weekend Homework" to the People's Action Party?...

I'm not really into politics. But from what i've seen in the news lately, the opposition doesn't seem to have much of a chance. With that SDP dude making so many dumb accusations, think all the opposing parties have lost credibility in the eyes of those who aren't politically enlightened, that includes me.
Never knew exactly how many opposing parties there are.. still don't ...and frankly speaking... don't give a shit. Just like many of my fellow computer-gaming, Greenday-listening, slacking peers of average intelligence, I really can't be bothered with politics for a couple of reasons.
I know they're dumb reasons but as i mentioned before... I'm politically unenlightened...
Firstly, it just isn't a really cool subject. (no offence Blue Van)
For someone my age, you don't just start a conversation about politics anytime unless your job calls for it, you're one of those brilliant fellas in the youth arm of a party or you wanna impress someone really bad...
Secondly, even if I desperately wanted to impress someone with political savvyness, it'd mean i'd have to do some research. We're just too lazy for our own good...

Maybe the govt should replace Moral Education in schools with Basics of Politics. They say that the youth in S'pore are oblivious to the political scene. I say drop Moral Ed... it's useless anyway... can't rem anything that was taught.. can't even rem WHEN we were taught that... was it pri sch? But I DO rem that ME lessons were periods of R&R... our minds would just switch off and we'd just stare blindly at the overzealous teacher like sleepy zombies.

Why i mentioned the opposition doesn't have a chance?
They don't wear white. It makes one appear honest. Like you've nothing to hide.
The opposition always looks so desperate. They go around frantically handing out pamphlets, shouting slogans, making a mockery of themselves.
Yes.. i know... you have a grudge and have some points to communicate to the public but you could do so in a more professional, stylised manner. Maybe donning a tux, hiring a professional image consultant and getting makeovers would do you some good...
The critics might say that your party's just a big show and there's nothing credible behind the black suit but you've got to remember that it's the politically unenlightened, middleclass, non-critique-reading, can't-be-bothered-bout-anything-but-our-bread-and-butter youth that will eventually hold the most votes...

Just my thoughts...
may all be bullshit to those really into politics.. >.<

I'm leaving on a jet plane...

Flying off to Taiwan on sunday morning. Have a vague idea of what to expect. From briefings i've had so far, have a a rather bad impression of the country though. No portable water, lousy flushing systems, jerks who deliberately walk along roads with plenty of blind spots with the intention of getting run over so they can subsequently squeeze every penny out of the poor driver for compensation. What's there to buy in Taiwan? Is taiwanese culture similar to that of Singapore's chinese? What should i get as souveniers? been asking myself these questions. Was with Shawn at the money changers today. Think i'll probably be spending most of the 'ren min bi' on gifts. I don't really earn alot so i'm just getting my relatives stuff. If you do get anything, it's probably cheap and you should consider yourself lucky... lucky that i found something worth buying in bloody Taiwan...

Today was a drag. Spent the morning listening to briefings. The rest of the day was spent cleaning the bunk, slacking and basically waiting for dinner. We were supposed to book out around 3 but the CQ screwed up and indented dinner by accident...

Tired. Off to bed.

Waiting for retirement.

Can't wait for retirement...
Dream of a home with a glass encased balcony. I'd relax on my easy chair, sip my home-made smoothie, listen to Oasis while watching the rain fall randomly on the glass ceiling. Pure indulgence...
Once again i'm waiting to book in. Our weekends are simply too short.
Listening to 'Sway' by Liz Phair.
Have a slightly runny nose now.
Gonna pick up some stuff from ntuc later. Chips, lunch and some cup noodles.
So much is spent on snacks now...
Getting my next pay in 8 days time.
Army life is such a drag.
They should play some radio in camp.
Route marches would be so much easier with Lenny Krevitz or Aerosmith.
Nightsnacks of pizza and rootbeer would be great morale boosters.
Can't wait for all this to end.
Want my Life back...
